G H O S T P H R A S E Newsletter 070517 ONLY FOR THE PARANOID. (REG.) Dear Fan, EDITORIAL. Who says I can't editorialize? It is my newsletter, right? Anyways, getting back to a favorite topic: how safe do you want to be? It seems the growing trend among corporate email encryption is to allow master keys and password retrieval options. This is very convenient for upper management. They can read everything anybody sends and receives. But what happens if the master key is lent out? What happens if it is stolen in an attack? How safe do you think it is to have the entire cubicle landscape of people hack away at their keyboards, safe in their knowledge that their email will be automatically encrypted AFTER it has been typed? Let no one fool you: master keys and password retrievals increases the risk for messages to be read by those who shouldn't. And custom attacks could log keystrokes behind many common firewalls. *****removed***** *****removed***** GHOSTPHRASE CRACKING CHALLENGE COMING UP.
